With over 200 locations from coast-to-coast, United Van Lines has long recognized the leadership role we can play in keeping Canadian communities clean and green. To that end, we have incorporated the practices of Reduce, Re-use and Recycle into our daily operations, both on the road and off. Our goal is to help make our world a little greener – one move at a time.

Our green initiatives include:
  • Regular scheduled truck and trailer maintenance and/or trade-ins to reduce harmful emissions
  • Retiring containers after 15 years service and giving them a second life as storage containers to local farms and other businesses
  • Recycling tires, packing paper and cartons (which contain recycled materials)
  • Using re-usable quilted furniture pads and floor runners
  • Recycling the wood, steel and cardboard used at our container manufacturing facility
  • Recycling paper, cans, bottles, cardboard and toner cartridges in our offices
  • Striving to become a paperless work environment
